Dressage Cowboy

Jessica is as resistant as her horse, but it isn’t the leg-yield she’s resisting. Who knew a would-be Gene Autry on a bay stallion would be jogging around her warm-up arena?

This cowboy is something of a stallion himself, and there is something about those fine masculine lines that are bound to attract a woman's attention. On the other hand, she'd better make the most of the few minutes she has to prepare for her dressage exhibit.

Is there a place for love anywhere near a horse show ring? Dressage Cowboy will drop you right at the in-gate for a glimpse of the action.

As a 'horse' person I just had to read this for myself. Although I live in the UK, I ride Western, ; I just love reining. I describe it as 'high speed dressage' to my friends who ride 'English' , and I love to see the expressions on their faces when they see a reining demonstration and watch a 'sliding stop' and a 'spin' for the first time... I do admire dressage riders as well though - done well it is very much like ballet. I think you got the two disciplines across perfectly in your story. I'm sure even most non-horse riders would have enjoyed it. My only regret is that it wasn't longer!'

    Secret Fire

Sand stung the face of pretty, far from home, Sybil Tayler. She felt not one step of the bay beast, for he ran as lightly as the wind itself. His back was fluid and sinuous as water bursting down a narrow creek way, and they'd scarcely reached the border of town before she realized her mistake. She had thought to buy a horse on beauty alone and had not ridden any that the trader had offered her. This horse, so plain in color and smallish in size, was far and away the fastest and finest she had ever sat on. Even so, even with speed and desperation, they were scarcely more than a few miles further than the outermost lights of the city before they had to stop for the night.
