About Nancy:
Lindley-Gauthier is a New Hampshire resident, transplanted some years ago from her native Northeastern Massachusetts. Her interests are hugely varied; horses being predominant, although she adores sailing and a number of other "adventurous" activities.
She has produced non-fiction articles for some years, published in a number of different periodicals. She started producing short pieces for magazines such as The Northeast Equine Journal, Yankee Pedlar, Rug Hooking Magazine, The Union Leader, and other local papers, while still in school.
Later articles included features, press releases, updates, reviews, and advertising copy. She also proofread for several companies, including as an editorial assistant for EBSCO Publishing.
In 2006, her Master's thesis; Prancing Paintings, on American Sleighs and Sleighing, was published as a dedicated issue of Carriage Driving World Magazine (CDW) . She has further developed, in a partnership with noted photographer Lisa Cenis, a collection of essays and images on sleighing, and that is under agreement for publication in book form.
Lindley-Gauthier is currently on staff at CDW, has a regular column, and additionally, produces occasional articles for magazines like The Carriage Association of America's Journal, Horsetalk, and The Cavalier.
She has had short fiction published in local and literary journals. A Case of Overkill, released in July, 2007, is her first fiction work of length, and her first mystery.
"The challenge of writing a mystery," she explains, "is in presenting the crime to the reader so they have a fair chance at solving it themselves. This is the sort of puzzle I enjoy best, and what made me a devotee of Agatha Christie's works so long ago." Other favorite mystery authors include the late Charlotte Maclead, Anne Perry, and Sue Henry, "although I always enjoy discovering new writers!"
Nancy's next "Moment in Crime" will feature a main character who loves to sail. More details aren't yet available; in fact, its all still something of a mystery!
